Humbled By "Palaman"
Milka
Nonya Kaya
Hainanese Kaya
This month of December, it occurred to me that I have several options for "palaman". Palaman refers to filling or spread for when eating bread.
I was born and raised in a poor household, that growing up, having a chance to eat bread is a luxury already. So having a "palaman" is something very rare too, LOL.
So I am surprised and humbled by the realization that I have options this time, such as:
Peanut Butter - always my father's favorite
Dari Creme - I love this one because of my years in Laguna/Manila where people usually have it in the morning with their pandesal (Filipino bread)
Nonya Kaya - my favorite spread (from Singapore- a gift from Nat)
Hainanese Kaya - still a gift from Nat
Biscoff - I bought through Nicole, from UAE and
Milka - still a gift from Nat, pasalubong from Singapore
Too many to choose from, LOL.
And my heart is happy! I feel like I am wealthy, even for just these days....
